Pauley Perrette Thanks CBS for Response to Her Assault Accusations: Network ‘Always Had My Back’

Following a CBS statement Tuesday night that it took a 2017 “workplace concern” reported by former NCIS star Pauley Perrette “seriously,” Perrette tweeted her thanks to the network saying, “They have always been so good to me and always had my back.”

The CBS statement came in response to tweets Perrette posted on Monday, in which she said she endured “multiple physical assaults” during her time on the show.

“Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on ‘NCIS’ and we are all going to miss her,” said the studio. “Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern. We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows.”

Perrette’s last appearance on the series aired earlier this month.

In a series of tweets last week, Perrette implied that the alleged assaults factored into her decision to leave the CBS procedural. Calling the abuse “horrifying,” Perrette said the reason she never spoke publicly about the situation out of an effort to “protect my crew, jobs and so many people.”

The actress said “a very rich, very powerful publicity ‘machine’” was at work keeping her from speaking out, including “tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies.” She did not detail the assault any further or identify her alleged abuser. Representatives for Perrette did not immediately return TheWrap’s request for comment.

CBS has renewed “NCIS” for a 16th season to air in the fall.
